Real ivy indoors is a mixed bag. It looks charming when it's happy, but it attracts spider mites, drops leaves when conditions change and has a habit of going from lush to leggy without much warning. This one stays full.
The vines twist and curve naturally, with thin brown stems that branch and split at irregular intervals. Each leaf has the classic ivy shape with a variegated pattern that shifts from a rich, dark green centre through to pale cream at the edges.
No two leaves look identical. Some are almost entirely white, others carry heavier green markings, and the size varies from small new growth at the tips to broader, more established leaves closer to the centre.
At 60cm wide with a trailing habit, it covers a good amount of space from a small pot. It's the kind of plant that looks best where the vines can hang: a high shelf, the edge of a bookcase or a bathroom vanity.
The black plastic pot is functional rather than decorative, so drop it into a ceramic planter or one of our smaller vases to finish the look. Images 5 and 6 show it styled in one of ours for reference.
